Smooth and creamy ice cream stuffed with fresh cherries, dark chocolate, and peanut butter.
I'm definitely down for this. You too, right?
So here's what happens when you score A LOT of fresh cherries… you start dreaming up cherry everything. My first idea was to get a head start on my holiday cooking game and test cherry pie recipes, but let's be real - I'm too lazy for that right now.
My second idea was to make cherry crisps, which still aren't completely out of the question (keep an eye out for that recipe).
But it's still summer, yo!
We've got like two solid weeks left before fall takes over, and I decided I was going to take advantage of that and use my cherries to make ICE CREAM! Brilliant.
As with all of my favorite ice cream blends, I've used frozen bananas as the base of this recipe.
(BTW - If you haven't tried making ice cream by simply blending frozen bananas you are seriously missing out. It's so tasty and uh, hello, extra healthy).
After blending some extra ripe, frozen bananas, we're going to toss in peanut butter, dark chocolate, and fresh cherries (lots of them). Next step? EAT.
