Can we talk about my love/hate relationship with grapefruit for a sec? Because when I say love/hate I actually mean sorta like/hate. Like sometimes I can kinda, somewhat enjoy grapefruit... kinda. And other times I am just like NO WAY AM I EATING THAT GRAPEFRUIT MAN.
You guys feel me? I feel like you feel me.
Because grapefruit is weird. It's sour and tart and unless you load it up with a cup of sugar, it's a no-go. At least that's what I use to believe. Until... can you guess it?... BROILED GRAPEFRUIT.
I mean hallelujah, praise Jesus. I found a delicious way to eat grapefruit.
Because honestly, even though grapefruit isn't my fave, I still ate it. Because it's super good for you. The benefits are totally worth it. So I use to drink/chug grapefruit juice. I still do actually. But this broiled grapefruit business has definitely taken over some of the juice duties.
... & I know what you're thinking. Broiled grapefruit isn't exactly news to anyone. But I just tried it for the first time not too long ago and I decided to share in case there are others out there like me, hoping to find a better way to eat grapefruit. LOL.
Anyways, I topped the grapefruit with maple syrup and coconut sugar. Broiled it for five minutes and then served it with vanilla coconut yogurt from Trader Joe's, which by the way, is delicious and my go-to for yogurt (it's 100% vegan). Nobody is paying me to say that, it's just the bees knees!
One last thing - if you're ever hosting for breakfast/brunch, these are super quick and easy to serve up. Throw some florals on them and wow your friends!

- 2 grapefruits, halved horizontally
- 1.5 tablespoons maple syrup
- 1 tablespoon coconut sugar
- 6 ounces coconut yogurt
- dash cinnamon
