Hey guys, me here!
I want to give you guys a quick(ish) backstory to this smoothie, if ya don't mind.
About a month ago I signed up for a gym membership... for the first time in my life. Yes, really. I typically enjoy running/hiking as my method of working out, but honestly life can be crazy (you know this) and I found myself not making a run or hike happen, at least not daily. I do partially blame this on winter and shorter days, because I don't feel comfortable running in the dark. I'll probably get back into running more when the time changes, though...
Anyway, I'm getting off topic. What I'm trying to tell you is that I finally joined a gym and that I actually love going so much! I love to be around other motivated people and I'm definitely not complaining about hitting up the sauna every day (detox!).
However, I went through a period of feeling absolutely exhausted and weak recently. I did some research and this seems to be normal when going full-speed into a new workout regimen. So I did some more research to find natural ways to boost my energy and surprisingly came across tons of people suggesting beets!
And well, that's where this smoothie comes in (finally)!
I knew I wouldn't just straight up eat beets, thats not me, so I started throwing a handful in my smoothie and it's become one of my favorite things here lately!
This smoothie is sweet but it's definitely earthy, too. I personally love the combination and I think you will as well! I am feeling more energetic, whether it be from the smoothie or not, I'm not totally sure! But it's definitely not hurting!
Beets also help to detox your body and fight inflammation. So this smoothie is quite the accessory to a healthy workout! Enjoy!
